Extra Services
You will find listed below details of a
host of extra information which we regard as important, particularly if you decide to
consider us as an "extra string to your bow".
The majority of 72 hour UK part load
deliveries are sent direct without extra handling.
Once goods are collected from
you they would normally not be handled again until arrival at their intended destination.
This is even more true for unit loads. We feel that this procedure is particularly
important as it reduces the possibility of damage in transit.
We can provide you with a special service
for urgent part loads that require a dedicated vehicle.
Where sameday UK to UK delivery,
irrespective of any other factor, is of paramount importance. If your customer realises
they are about to run out of a raw material required for their manufacturing process,
rather than suffer a shutdown in production, this service would be more
appropriate.
72 hour prices for next day UK part loads
that 'fit in'.
There is always the possibility that if you
require a next day delivery we might be able to merge your consignment with existing
traffic. This situation might arise if we are already organising a collection from you, or
already delivering to a place for which you have an urgent delivery, and collection of
your consignment is convenient for us.
Exclusive rate schedules for unusual
consignments.
If you manufacture or supply goods which are not
palletised when shipped, and are unusual due to size, bulk, or weight, we could prepare a
rate schedule particular to your product. Alternatively we are able to give you immediate
quotes for individual consignments.
Abnormal load service available.
For movement of indivisable loads with a width equal to or exceeding 2.9m. We will
organise it's movement and prepare a suitable route which we will notify to the
appropriate area police forces. The required minimum notification is 48 hours prior to
movement so ideally we would require an additional 24 hours for preparation. We can also
quote for movement of loads which are excessively long, high, or heavy and require
specialist vehicle requirements.
Delivery notes returned with invoice or
archived.
When we have delivered your goods we can either return the signed proof of delivery
to you or archive it. All "pod's" are also scanned and retained on disk, so you can be sure that in the event of a discrepancy arising we can quickly
supply you with the original note or a copy either by fax, post, or e-mail.
Credit accounts set up with minimum of
fuss.
We have access to data listing every limited company in the UK and are quickly able
to do a simple credit check and set up an account for you. Our payment terms are 30 days
net from receipt of our invoice.
Out of hours contact via mobile
telephone.
Our traffic staff are always available outside normal office hours to answer your
queries concerning deliveries.
Chiltern IT systems.
We use the latest computer technology
to enable staff to access our multi
user linked database systems, via state of the art networked multi screen workstations.
Our software has been developed in-house to allow us total control over the way it
operates. It can easily be reprogrammed to facilitate particular or unusual
customer requirements.
Our system also allows us to record
details of every
consignee for all customers. This is particularly convenient for repeat deliveries,
enabling effortless
access to customer and consignee data (vehicle access, landline/mobile telephone numbers, opening and closing times, special requirements, full
delivery address and postcode). We
are also able to instantly trace the delivery status of any consignment with the absolute minimum of
information. This is due to our software databases being joined and truly
relational, enabling us to search simultaneously on
over one hundred data fields belonging to one or more databases.
Operations and sales staff industry qualified.
All our traffic staff management are industry qualified with the CPC (Certificate
of Professional Competence), a qualification which is a legal requirement for any person
nominated on a UK heavy goods vehicle operators licence.
RHA membership

We are members of the Road Haulage
Association (membership number 013003). Almost all UK haulage and logistics
companies are members and trade using a standardised set of conditions when
transporting goods. Currently all the consignments we move are regulated
by RHA 1998 conditions of
carriage. Copies are available from us on request or you can access them in the
pdf file below.
