Extra Services
Additional information about the service we provide
is listed below.
The majority of 72 hour UK part load
deliveries are sent direct without extra handling.
 |
Consignments
of more than two pallets will not normally be handled after
collection until arrival at their intended destination.
This is even more true for unit loads.
We feel that this procedure is particularly
important as it reduces the possibility of damage in transit. |
Special service
for urgent part loads that require a dedicated vehicle.
 |
Where same day UK to UK delivery is of paramount importance.
Your
customer realises they have insufficient raw material for
their manufacturing process. This service might be more
appropriate rather than suffer a shutdown in production.
|
72 hour prices for next day UK part loads
that 'fit in'.
 |
If you
require next day delivery it may be possible to merge your consignment with
existing traffic where you will only pay the economy rate.
This situation might
arise if we are already organising a collection from you, or we are already delivering to a place for which you have an
additional urgent delivery. |
Exclusive rate schedules and quotes for unusual
consignments.
   |
If
you manufacture or supply goods which are not palletised when shipped, or are
unusual due to size, bulk, or weight, we can create a bespoke rate schedule
particular to your product.
Alternatively we can give you
immediate quotes for individual consignments.
Left are some
example of some of the more unusual items we transport.

exhibition which tours the world.
The destinations
we have shipped to include Paris, Hamm (Germany), Alocheta (Portugal), Belfast,
Grenada (Spain), Hellerup (Denmark), Cremona (Italy), and Stavanger (Norway).
The bottom images show a fibreglass rugby ball advertising QBE, the official insurance sponsor of
Guinness Premiership Rugby.
It was collected by us from the manufacturer for
display at the home of London Irish - Madejski Stadium, and also outside the
offices of QBE in central London. |
Abnormal load service available.
 |
For movement
of indivisible loads.
We will organise
movement for you and prepare a suitable route which we will
notify to the appropriate police authorities. The required minimum notification is 48 hours prior to
movement (though extra restrictions may apply depending on size) so we would
require additional time for preparation.
We can also quote for movement of
indivisible loads which are excessively long, high, or heavy, and require an
Abnormal Indivisible Load Haulage Vehicle (AILHV). |

Chiltern IT systems.
 |
We use the latest computer technology
to enable staff to access our multi-user linked database systems, via state of the art networked multi-screen workstations.
Our traffic software has
been developed in-house to allow us total control, and it can easily be reprogrammed to facilitate particular or unusual
customer requirements.
We also use a
specialised Delta stock control system for our warehousing
function, providing full stock traceability and multiple
picking options. |
Data recall.
 |
Our
traffic database system also allows us to record
details of every
consignee for all
customers. This is particularly convenient for repeat deliveries,
enabling effortless
access to customer and consignee data (for example vehicle access restrictions, landline/mobile telephone numbers, opening and closing times, special requirements, full
delivery address and postcode).
We
are also able to instantly trace the delivery status of any consignment with the absolute minimum of
information. This is due to our software databases being joined and truly
relational, enabling us to search simultaneously on
over one hundred data fields belonging to one or more databases. |
