  • Continued Investment

    March 2021.

We are pleased to be able to support continued investment into the company with the addition of new tractor units. These have been fitted with all the latest safety and camera technology, which complies with the new government guidelines on Direct Vision Standards.

The Direct Vision Standards (DVS) approach came into force to reduce the amount of road accidents. The scheme requires all HGV’s over 12 tonnes, who wish to operate within Greater London, to have a safety permit. These HGV’s will be given a rating between zero and five stars, all dependent on the level of direct vision a driver has through the windows of their cab. This scheme has been enforced to minimise HGV blind spots, which contributes to many of the collisions and major injuries on our roads.

  • Partnership with Rennie Grove Hospice

    February 2021.

    Rennie Grove Partnership

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Rennie Grove Hospice by supporting their online department with the donation of packaging materials.

Rennie Grove’s online hub in Berkhamstead has seen a large increase in their online sales, particularly since their stores have been closed due to Covid-19. For us to assist and help in this venture has allowed Rennie Grove Hospice to package and send out their online sales all over the world. As there are no packaging costs for the charity, it allows them to increase their income to continue their good work and reach their goals.

Overall, we are beyond delighted with this and cannot wait to see this partnership progress. Please take the time and have a look at the Rennie Grove Hospice website to learn about what this amazing charity does on a day to day basis and how you too can get involved.

  • Brexit Update

Alongside many other UK companies, we are taking active steps to ensure that our business continues as normal in the run-up to Brexit.

At this time, working alongside UPN we have put in place processes and procedures that will be adopted, in order to carry on trading within the EU and Northern Ireland from 1st January 2021, to ensure a smooth transition of freight post Brexit.

Please find below a guide on these procedures.

  • A New Addition

    September 2020.

Today we welcomed back our newly refurbished Aisle Master, forklift truck. We are committed to continuing our investment within the business to make our services the most modern and up to date for all our Clients.

  • COVID-19 Statement

The safety of our employees, visitors and contractors is Chiltern Transport’s overriding priority. We acknowledge that employers have a vital role to play by taking extreme and careful action to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Workers are advised to maintain good hygiene standards around the workplace and on site by following the advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England, which is the guidance we have given to all our employees.

That being said, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to reduce the potential risk of exposure to our workforce and visitors, our procedures require all visitors to the site, including contractors carrying out jobs on site, to complete a screening questionnaire at the beginning of their visit.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation very carefully, as the safety of all members of staff, visitors and contractors, on our site is our absolute priority.

  • Thirty Years of Chiltern Transport

    September 2019.

2019 was a monumental year for us here at Chiltern Transport, it was the year we celebrated 30 years of trading. Established in 1989 by Keith Croker, as a one man operation, now employing over 40 members of staff and operating up to 20 vehicles, ranging from 18 to 44 tonnes.

That being said, staff at Chiltern Transport celebrated with a surprise party for Keith. All members of staff contributed to this event, with many arriving as early as 8 am to set up. Director, Iain Hamilton, presented Keith with a replica model of a Chiltern Transport trailer to show their continued support for him and the company. Keith stated the past 30 years could only have been achieved with the support he was given from all staff members, with them embracing the company ethic of understanding our customer needs, continued development of our services and embracing the ISO management systems as well as our environmental and health and safety beliefs.

  • Our Expansion into a Frosty World

    August 2019.

On the 12th August 2019, Chiltern Transport & Warehousing Limited expanded into refrigerated transport. The company has invested heavily into new single refrigerated trailers, to accommodate a wide range of temperature requirements from -25°C to +25°C. By the end of 2020, we plan to continue with investments into this department with the purchase of duel compartment trailers. We are now delivering perishable goods and pharmaceuticals throughout the United Kingdom, hopefully one day expanding across to the continent.

  • Charity Bike Ride

    May 2019.

‘Team Chiltern’ successfully raised in excess of £4,000 in aid of our local Rennie-Grove Hospice. Cycling from Leighton Buzzard to Central London, a total of 60 miles, via the Grand Union Canal Cycling Route. A very well done to everyone who took part and sponsored.
