March 2021.
We are pleased to be able to support continued investment into the company with the addition of new tractor units. These have been fitted with all the latest safety and camera technology, which complies with the new government guidelines on Direct Vision Standards.
The Direct Vision Standards (DVS) approach came into force to reduce the amount of road accidents. The scheme requires all HGV’s over 12 tonnes, who wish to operate within Greater London, to have a safety permit. These HGV’s will be given a rating between zero and five stars, all dependent on the level of direct vision a driver has through the windows of their cab. This scheme has been enforced to minimise HGV blind spots, which contributes to many of the collisions and major injuries on our roads.
